About The Position

Alan B. Miller Medical Center is a new state-of-the-art hospital that will join UHS’ growing regional network of healthcare operations. The hospital will feature 150 private patient rooms and offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Per Diem fulfills the needs of the patients, families, and community by performing a variety of routine and intensive therapy, diagnostic procedures, and patient assessments in accordance with his/her licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. This role also maintains and stocks respiratory equipment and ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable during assigned shift.

Requirements

Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapist program.
A minimum of 1-year full time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
Basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the population served.
Licensed by the State of Florida.
Licensed as a RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist and certified by NBRC.
AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.

Responsibilities
