About The Position

Responsible for treating patients of all ages from newborn to geriatric with cardiorespiratory problems using a variety of diagnostic and treatment modalities. Acts as a resource for physicians and nurses. Administers a variety of treatments and therapies to patients, most of which require operation of respiratory equipment such oxygen delivery devices, nebulizers, aerosol units, ventilators, pulmonary function spirometry, blood gas analyzers and cardiac stress testing equipment, as ordered by a physician. Performs resuscitative measures using monitors, defibrillators, and mechanical respirators.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Typically requires completion of 2-year program and NBRC registration.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT).
  • Must have current BLS certification.
  • Must become ACLS, NRP certified within one (1) month of hire.
  • Licensed to practice Respiratory Therapy in the State of Oregon.
  • Must supply RRT diploma or transcripts.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clinical experience practicing general respiratory therapy with experience in ICU, ER, Newborn, Pediatric and Cardiac Stress testing ABG sampling and analysis, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Cardiac Event and Holter monitoring preferred.
