Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the Pediatric Home Respiratory Therapist program. This includes the installation and delivery of pediatric respiratory therapy equipment, provision of supplies and products to patients in hospitals and homes, and ongoing assessment of patients, supplies, and equipment. The role involves clinical contact with physicians, referral sources, healthcare practitioners, and others involved in patient care. Maintaining records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, and preventative maintenance records is crucial. The position also requires maintaining accurate inventory of assets and supplies, managing company vehicle maintenance and service, and ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and guidelines. Additionally, the role involves orienting and training subordinate or newly hired staff, exhibiting effective communication skills, adhering to cost-containment policies, and working with office staff for accurate billing and documentation. Collaboration with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote services is expected. The therapist must ensure proper, accurate, and safe equipment operation before installation and provide availability for patient contact and response to needs as outlined in the policy and procedure manual. Teamwork with other RTs, PCCs, and various departments is essential, as is participation in a rotating on-call schedule or arranging call coverage with the Area Clinical Manager.
