About The Position

Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the Pediatric Home Respiratory Therapist program. This includes the installation and delivery of pediatric respiratory therapy equipment, provision of supplies and products to patients in hospitals and homes, and ongoing assessment of patients, supplies, and equipment. The role involves clinical contact with physicians, referral sources, healthcare practitioners, and others involved in patient care. Maintaining records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, and preventative maintenance records is crucial. The position also requires maintaining accurate inventory of assets and supplies, managing company vehicle maintenance and service, and ensuring compliance with regulatory rules and guidelines. Additionally, the role involves orienting and training subordinate or newly hired staff, exhibiting effective communication skills, adhering to cost-containment policies, and working with office staff for accurate billing and documentation. Collaboration with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote services is expected. The therapist must ensure proper, accurate, and safe equipment operation before installation and provide availability for patient contact and response to needs as outlined in the policy and procedure manual. Teamwork with other RTs, PCCs, and various departments is essential, as is participation in a rotating on-call schedule or arranging call coverage with the Area Clinical Manager.

One (1) year of experience with Pediatric of Neonatal respiratory therapy.
A valid (current and in good standing) Respiratory Therapist license in the State in which you practice.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation/delivery of all pediatric respiratory therapy equipment and provision of all needed supplies and products to the patients in the hospital and home.
Responsible for ongoing assessment of patients, supplies, and equipment.
Responsible for clinical contact with the physician, referral sources, health care practitioners, and other involved in the care of the patient referred to Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a Vie Med for home Pediatric Therapist services.
Responsible for maintaining records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all Sleep Management/Vie Med assets and supplies.
Responsible for company vehicle maintenance and service (paid for by Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a Vie Med).
Ensures that company vehicle is maintained per applicable accreditation standards at all times.
Responsible to ensure all pertinent demographic information is updated regularly and with any change in personal or professional status.
Responsible for the overseeing of all applicable regulatory rules and guidelines as pertains to the Pediatric Respiratory Therapist.
Responsible for orientation and training of subordinate or newly hired Pediatric Respiratory Therapist staff.
Exhibits effective written and verbal communication skills.
Adheres to cost-containment policies and procedures.
Works with the office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third-party payor guidelines for coverage.
Works with all clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market Pediatric Home Respiratory services to all referral sources.
Ensures proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation.
Is required to provide availability for patient contact and response to patient needs as described in the policy and procedure manual.
Will work with team members (other RTs, PCC’s and various departments) to insure tasks completed.
Will work with fellow Pediatric Respiratory Therapist in the area on a rotating on-call schedule or request call coverage from Area Clinical Manager with other Respiratory Therapist with Pediatric competency requirements met.
Other duties/projects as assigned.
