About The Position

Lincare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist / Nurse to join its team. The employee sets up home medical equipment, including ventilators, monitors, CPAP/BiPAP units, and other related equipment, and educates and trains patients on its proper use. The role includes visiting patients throughout an assigned territory and participating in after-hours and weekend on-call coverage as needed. On-call frequency depends on center size and the number of employees available to share coverage.

Requirements

Be a CRT or RRT, or, subject to state law and regulation, an RN, LPN, LVN, paramedic, EMT, or other clinician qualified for the position.
Maintain certification, registration, or licensure by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinical practice, or as otherwise permitted by law.
Have a reliable personal vehicle for visiting patients throughout the assigned territory.
Maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance in the state of residence, per company policy.
Have in-depth knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Be computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and educate patients on home medical equipment, including CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, oxygen concentrators, and mechanical ventilators.
Inspect, test, and adjust home medical equipment to ensure it functions safely and efficiently.
Review prescriptions and patient information to assess condition and determine suitable treatment administration consistent with physician orders.
Maintain complete and organized patient records in compliance with accreditation standards.
Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts.
Work on call after hours and weekends as needed; frequency depends on center size and available staff.
