This position involves providing respiratory care to patients. The therapist will be responsible for understanding patient responses, side effects, and dosages of respiratory medications. Effective communication with physicians, patients, managers, and the public is essential. The role requires the ability to teach, instruct, assess, and reassess others, as well as recognize and report patient abuse and neglect. The therapist must possess knowledge of generally accepted respiratory care practices as prescribed by physicians. Key duties include delivering, setting up, and maintaining routine and non-routine therapies and equipment such as oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilators. The ability to perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases is also required.
