About The Position

Join UF Health as a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist II at our new UF Health Emergency and Urgent Care – Intracoastal, a freestanding emergency department (FSED) opening in January 2027. In this full-time role, you will provide respiratory care and life-support services to patients experiencing a variety of cardiopulmonary conditions in a fast-paced emergency care environment. Working alongside physicians, nurses, and other members of the emergency care team, you will play an important role in assessing patients, administering respiratory treatments, managing airway and oxygen therapy, and supporting patients requiring advanced respiratory intervention. The Respiratory Therapist II provides care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards and may serve as lead therapist when assigned. This is an exciting opportunity to join UF Health Jacksonville and be part of the team supporting respiratory care at a brand-new freestanding emergency department opening in January 2027 to serve the Intracoastal community.

Requirements

• Completion of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Ability to administer respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Ability to act as lead therapist when assigned for all areas.
• Current State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist form the Department of Health and State of Florida.
• Current BLS certification.
• Less than one (1) year of critical care experience for ventilator management.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Three (3) or more years previous Respiratory Therapist experience in a major health care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and life-support services to patients experiencing a variety of cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Assess patients.
• Administer respiratory treatments.
• Manage airway and oxygen therapy.
• Support patients requiring advanced respiratory intervention.
• Provide care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Serve as lead therapist when assigned.
• Provide NICU patient care (i.e., ventilator and Oxygen assessment) when acting as a lead therapist.
