About The Position

Responsible for overseeing a team of respiratory therapists. This role involves providing guidance, support, and training to team members, as well as ensuring that they are providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. This position requires Patient Care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
  • Experience working as a respiratory therapist 5-7 years required
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role 2-3 years required
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system.
  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
  • Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues.
  • Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

  • Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy preferred
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist [RRT] - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Certification [NRP] - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred
  • Respiratory Therapist [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care preferred
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, and supervises respiratory therapists, including setting performance standards, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensures that respiratory therapists are providing appropriate care to patients, and that care is consistent with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitors the quality of care provided by the team, and takes steps to address any deficiencies or issues that arise.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of respiratory therapy equipment, and ensure that equipment is functioning properly.
  • Manages the budget for respiratory therapy services, and ensures that resources are allocated properly.
  • Maintains accurate records of patient care and other administrative tasks related to respiratory therapy services.
