About The Position

Under direction of the V.P. of Respiratory Care Services, the Respiratory Clinical Educator will coordinate the design, planning, evaluation, and integration of clinical education and professional development activities as to maintain consistent standards of evidence-based practice and competencies in the delivery of appropriate patient care across all age-specific populations in the area of Respiratory Care. Respiratory Clinical Educator will function as an educator, a consultant, leader, researcher, and resource to respiratory staff, nursing, and physicians on the PIH Health Whittier Hospital campus and will be responsible for ensuring the competency and consistency of clinical practice.

Requirements

• Principles and methods of adult education
• Refined and effective writing and communication abilities
• Strong clinical competence in all acute areas associated with respiratory
• Expertise in clinical performance as demonstrated in respiratory procedures and modalities
• Knowledge of pathophysiology of common and complex respiratory disease processes
• Independent performance
• Supports department leadership by demonstrating effective leadership, and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to plan, organize, implement, and monitor changes in practice
• Basic computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to analyze various sources of outcome data
