About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in respiratory care.
  • Three (3) years of RRT experience (or related quality/compliance experience), including experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient populations.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the State of Florida Department of Health and the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in respiratory care or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) plan and measures for Respiratory Care.
  • Displays an understanding of diversity.
  • Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values).
  • Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients.
  • Manages the informational, quality assurance (QA), regulatory compliance, clinical performance compliance, and operational functions of all the department’s patient care sections.
  • Ensures staff members comply with policies and procedures.
  • Measures and reports The Joint Commission (TJC) standards compliance.
  • Serves as CQI Team facilitator.
  • Spends forty percent (40%) of time in direct patient care.
  • Performs other duties (as assigned) to assist the Dir/Respiratory/Cardiopul Svcs.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.
