About The Position

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a Full-Time assignment at a correctional facility in Vacaville, CA. This role involves providing respiratory care services under the direction of the Institution CEO/CME or designee, adhering to facility policies and evidence-based practices. The practitioner will be responsible for patient evaluations, equipment setup and instruction, treatment recommendations, daily charting, and assisting with policy development and equipment needs assessment. The position requires participation in in-service training and potential involvement in quality improvement projects.

Requirements

Must have CA Respiratory License.
Must be Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Ability to perform essential functions in conditions requiring such actions.
Must be flexible for orientation (2 weeks).

Responsibilities

Perform respiratory care consistent with generally accepted evidence-based practice.
Set up equipment and provide instructions for use for each patient/youth per established policy and procedure.
Perform complete medical evaluations of patients during scheduled clinic hours or upon request for consult.
Make appropriate recommendations for treatment to the referring physician, CEO/CME or designee.
Maintain all charting on a daily basis. Delinquent charts (more than 10 days) may result in termination.
Aid in the development and updating of policy and procedures related to respiratory therapy.
Provide periodic assessment of equipment needs and recommendations.
Submit to Institution’s in-service training materials one week in advance.
Participate in special assignments for respiratory care services as requested, such as quality improvement projects or utilization review.
