About The Position
AvaMed Workforce is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a Full-Time assignment at a correctional facility in Vacaville, CA. This role involves providing respiratory care services under the direction of the Institution CEO/CME or designee, adhering to facility policies and evidence-based practices. The practitioner will be responsible for patient evaluations, equipment setup and instruction, daily charting, and contributing to policy development and equipment needs assessments.
Requirements
- Must have CA Respiratory License.
- Must be Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Ability to work in conditions requiring essential functions of the role.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory care services consistent with generally accepted evidence-based practice.
- Set up equipment and provide instructions for its use for each patient/youth per established policy and procedure.
- Perform complete medical evaluations of patients during scheduled clinic hours or upon request for consult, and make appropriate recommendations for treatment.
- Maintain all charting on a daily basis.
- Aid in the development and updating of policy and procedures related to respiratory therapy.
- Provide periodic assessment of equipment needs and recommendations.
- Submit required documentation for in-service training.
- Participate in special assignments for respiratory care services as requested, such as quality improvement projects and utilization review.
