About The Position
This is a full-time position for a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Gibson City, IL. The role involves performing various diagnostic tests and providing respiratory care. The practitioner will work 36 hours weekly, primarily Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with occasional weekend and night coverage. The position requires the ability to work independently at times. Training will be provided for certain duties.
Requirements
- 2 years recent hospital experience required
- Must be comfortable working alone at times
- BLS required
- ACLS/PALS required within 6 months of hire
Nice To Haves
- Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligible preferred
- Licensed in the State of Illinois
Responsibilities
- Performing Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)
- Conducting Cardiac Stress Tests
- Performing EKGs
- Placing Holter monitors
- Drawing and analyzing Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- Assessing home oxygen qualifications
- Managing ventilators
- Providing routine respiratory care
- Collaborating with providers on all aspects of respiratory therapy
