About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (Advanced) has accountability and responsibility for the coordination and management of care of a designated group of patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Has a solid foundation and experience with meeting to the clinical practice and assessment needs of the acute and critical care patient population.

Requirements

• One (1) year of clinical experience as a respiratory care practitioner.
• Graduate of an accredited two (2) year Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Successful completion of an acute care and PFT training and competency.
• Knowledge of and ability to provide appropriate patient care depending upon age specific, cultural diversity, and spiritual needs.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a time efficient and organized manner.
• Ability to work collaboratively and in coordination with others.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner – CA (RCP)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Nice To Haves

• Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in acute respiratory care.
• Associate or Bachelor of Science/Arts degree.
• Reg Pulmonary Function Tech.

Responsibilities

• Coordination and management of care of a designated group of patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

• Provide appropriate patient care depending upon age specific, cultural diversity, and spiritual needs.
• Complete accurate documentation in the patient EMR.
• Perform work according to CHOC’s policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws.
• Set goals and review results in accordance with the highest standards of excellence.
• Deliver care with sensitivity and respect and advance practice through development of new ideas and technology.
