About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides, under medical direction, respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. According to physician prescription, the RCP provides diagnostic testing, therapeutic, and respiratory monitoring services. Requirements

  • Graduate of a respiratory therapy program approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA) so as to qualify for examination and licensure by the California State Respiratory Care Examining Committee as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • 1 - 2 years recent experience in respiratory patient care and respiratory care technology in an accredited acute care facility preferred.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner Required at hire
  • Reg Respiratory Therapist One-Time at hire
  • Basic Life Support Required at hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Required at hire
  • Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
  • Skilled in the techniques of airway clearance in intubated and non-intubated patients.
  • Skilled in providing and maintaining an adequate patent airway in emergency situations.
  • Skilled in respiratory medications administered by aerosolization.
