About The Position

Responsible for guiding the respiratory care team and support high quality patient care. The Respiratory Care Manager will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and serve as a clinical resource for complex cases. They will also oversee patient care, ensure adherence to protocols, and oversee training and workflow optimization. The Respiratory Care Manager will have strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative leadership style. Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate staffing levels, managing equipment and supplies, ensuring accurate documentation, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree, Respiratory Care/Therapy/Science (Required)
  • Bachelors Degree, Respiratory Care/Therapy/Science (Required)
  • 3-4 years Respiratory Therapist (Required)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Virginia Upon Hire(Required)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
  • ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
  • Advanced Airway Management (AAM) - Riverside Health System (RHS) within 180 Days(Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years Supervisory Experience (Preferred)
  • PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and makes budget recommendations with leadership based on payroll, productivity, and supply management.
  • Completes and submits all required reports within specified time frames.
  • Completes established goals and objectives.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees to ensure high employee morale and professional atmosphere.
  • Provides ongoing constructive feedback and evaluation through department and facility rounding, employee meetings, and responding to teachable moments.
  • Demonstrates and ensure team understands and responds to suggestions and concerns from patients/ visitors, personnel, medical staff and leadership.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize teams that attract, train and retain the best.
  • Engages physicians into the governance and administration of the Department/Facility Strategic and Operational Goals and Objectives.
  • Ensures integration of physicians and administration, creating a partnership that achieves service excellence and economic growth.
  • Strives continuously to improve unit/facility activities and to improve service and patient care outcomes through the interpretation and maintenance of regulatory and accreditation standards in accordance with national safety standards, standards of excellence and Riverside Code of Conduct.
  • Collaborating with schools to ensure partnerships that enhance the student experience and provide feedback that sets up students for success when entering the workforce.
  • Ensure the department successfully completes all regulatory inspections and accreditation processes with no contingencies or serious recommendations and all previous recommendations corrected.
  • Department and Safety program fully comply with OSHA and other safety regulation requirements.
