About The Position
The Respiratory Care Extern provides limited operation under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist to assist in performing limited, low-risk respiratory therapy procedures. The Respiratory Care Extern gathers patient information, monitors and tracks all respiratory therapy activities, and updates patient medical records. The Respiratory Care Extern performs setup, cleaning, maintenance, stocking, and transporting of respiratory therapy equipment.
Requirements
- Must be a student in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Must have completed at least one clinical rotation.
- Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing limited, low-risk respiratory therapy procedures under supervision.
- Gather patient information.
- Monitor and track all respiratory therapy activities.
- Update patient medical records.
- Perform setup, cleaning, maintenance, stocking, and transporting of respiratory therapy equipment.
