About The Position

The Clinical Educator for Respiratory Care develops and implements educational programs and resources to enhance the clinical performance of the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring compliance with AARC guidelines. This role involves developing and utilizing criteria-based tools to assess and improve clinical performance across various settings including ED, PICU, NICU, Medical-Surgical, and ground transport. The coordinator creates and manages departmental learning materials, enhances onboarding processes, and collaborates with leadership on new service line opportunities. They also serve as a point of contact for educational programs, guide rotating students, and promote career opportunities in pediatric respiratory care. Additionally, the role involves performing respiratory therapist duties as needed, acting as a super user for departmental equipment, and participating in on-call rotations and providing education for nightshift staff.

Requirements

Associates degree required.
Degree in Respiratory Care or related field required.
Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
Certified by the Tennessee State Board of Medical Examiners as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
PALS and NRP certification or must obtain certification within one year of hire.
Certification as Neonatal Pediatric Specialist by the National Board of Respiratory Care required within one year of hire.
Basic life support required.
2 years of related experience required.
One-year pediatric and Neonatal level III Respiratory Care experience required.
Works flexible hours.
Strong knowledge base of pediatric respiratory care modalities.
Effective communication, presentation and leadership skills.
Ability to participate in the management on-call rotation.

Acts as a super user for all departmental areas and equipment, providing expertise and support to staff.
Participates in weekend on-call rotation with other departmental leaders to ensure continuous support and oversight.
Dedicating time to provide education and support for nightshift staff, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
