About The Position

The Respiratory Care Assistant cleans, sterilizes, and stocks medical supplies for Respiratory Care Services, the Pulmonary Function Lab, and the Sleep Disorders Center. The role includes performing daily oxygen rounds, changing oxygen equipment, and delivering oxygen cylinders to patient care areas. The assistant also conducts the daily audit and submission of Respiratory Care billing.

This is a physically active position involving regular lifting and moving of items weighing up to 20 pounds. The work requires safely lifting, carrying, pushing, and moving oxygen tanks. It also involves daily use of cleaning products to sanitize equipment and work areas and following applicable safety procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move oxygen tanks and items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sterilize, and stock medical supplies for Respiratory Care Services, the Pulmonary Function Lab, and the Sleep Disorders Center.
• Perform daily oxygen rounds and change oxygen equipment.
• Deliver oxygen cylinders to patient care areas.
• Audit and submit Respiratory Care billing daily.
• Safely lift, carry, push, and move oxygen tanks and other items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Use cleaning products daily to clean and sanitize equipment and work areas, following safety procedures.
