About The Position

Responsible for evaluating patients through diagnostic tests and performing therapeutic modalities prescribed by a physician to treat pulmonary disorders. The role performs non-critical and critical care respiratory therapy procedures and treatments, and cleans, assembles, and distributes supplies and equipment.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited two- or four-year AMA-approved respiratory therapist program.
• Current New York State Respiratory Therapist license.
• Registration from the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess patients.
• Perform pulmonary function testing.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gas samples and perform quality control.
• Provide medical gas therapy.
• Deliver inhaled medication.
• Provide aerosol therapy.
• Provide bronchial hygiene therapy.
• Manage and maintain airways.
• Perform non-invasive BIPAP procedures.
• Perform endotracheal intubation.
• Manage ventilators.
• Clean, assemble, and distribute supplies and equipment.
• Perform related duties as required.
