Damar is currently seeking a Resource Specialist to join our team. Our Resource Specialist position on our is one of Damar's most unique positions, striving to keep the environment safe for our clients, and provide support for our other direct care staff. Requirements

• Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program
• Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening

Responsibilities

• Effectively responds to and manages crisis situations for all Damar programs - taking the leadership role in de-escalation and/or intervention when needed
• Initiates special precautions for clients that exhibit and meet high risk behavior criteria
• Takes appropriate action regarding any events that affect the mental and physical well-being of the residents, including but not limited to, providing client and staff support, informal training and crisis management
• Understands behavior support plans for high acuity clients
