About The Position

Our team is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students in a 3rd–5th grade resource room classroom in Illinois. This full-time opportunity is available for the full school year and offers an opportunity to provide individualized instruction and support within an elementary school setting.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate special education endorsement, including Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) credentials applicable to the students served.
Applicants with a comparable out-of-state special education license may also be considered if they meet Illinois licensure requirements.
Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills are essential.
Ability to develop and deliver instruction tailored to individual students' needs.

Nice To Haves

Previous school-based special education experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in IEP meetings and student support meetings.
Adapt lessons, assignments, instructional materials, and assessments.
Monitor student progress and use data to guide instructional decisions.
Support students in developing academic, classroom, and learning skills.
Maintain accurate student records and special education documentation.
Help create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Deliver instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and individual learning needs.
Provide individualized and small-group instruction in a 3rd–5th grade resource-room setting.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
