For more information on the Ministry of Education and childcare, please visit: https://www.alberta.ca/education-and-childcare Role Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Resource Authorization, the Resource Analyst leads complex resource analysis projects and works collaboratively with their team to support the operations and overall functioning of the branch to support the implementation of the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) provincial curriculum The Resource Analyst plays a central role in supporting the development, review, and authorization of high-quality learning and teaching resources aligned with Alberta’s K–12 curriculum. This position works closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure resources meet educational standards and reflect diverse perspectives.
Requirements
- Strong research, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and educational resource standards.
- Experience working with diverse communities and educational stakeholders.
- Master's Degree in a related field plus five years related experience or equivalent.
- Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus seven years of related experience.
- Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
- The successful candidate must have a valid Alberta Permanent Professional Certificate in teaching.
- Bilingualism in English and French are a requirement.

- Knowledge of Alberta’s K–12 education system and relevant legislation (e.g., Education Act).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proficient in research, data analysis, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in problem solving, decision-making, and applying sound judgment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and other tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- A Master's degree in a related field.
- Teaching experience in the Alberta K–12 context.
Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and authorization of K–12 learning resources.
- Collaborate with curriculum teams, educators, and community partners to ensure alignment and relevance.
- Manage stakeholder engagement activities and incorporate feedback into resource planning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to professional learning for resource reviewers.
- Promote inclusive resource development, integrating Francophone and Indigenous perspectives.
- Respond to information requests and contribute to strategic planning, analysis, and reporting.
