About The Position

New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities. Supported Independent Living (S.I.L.) is one of the many services offered by New Directions. S.I.L. provides independent living support to people who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health barriers, and who choose to live independently in the community. This position is for a Resource Administrator within the Supported Independent Living (S.I.L.) program.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365.
  • Strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service abilities; sensitivity to customer issues and understanding the importance of diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in the non-profit sector or within a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits biweekly & monthly mileage and expense claims.
  • Maintains and organizes electronic and physical filing systems, including creating new entrant’s intake files and registration forms.
  • Processes invoices and manages transactions.
  • Audits service areas shift logs.
  • Manages office supplies, forms, mail distribution, and incident report databases.
  • Records and distributes staff meeting minutes.
  • Assists the reassignment group and medication distribution team as required.
  • Assists in exploring and implementing new program resources as approved.
  • Helps manage services areas gas cards, bus ticket supply, and hygiene product distribution.
  • Acts as an ambassador for New Directions both internally and externally by fostering teamwork, positivity, and professionalism, ensuring that the organization is represented positively when liaising with external supporters.
  • Ensures administrative and operational activities align with best practices, risk management principles, and organizational standards.
  • Maintains accurate, secure, and retrievable documentation for service area requirements.
  • Supports initiatives that uphold compliance with internal and external expectations.
