About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the resort's grounds, including lawns, landscape beds, and shoreline areas. The Resort Landscaper will perform routine maintenance tasks, plant new flora, and ensure the health and appearance of the resort's landscape. The position requires safe operation of commercial landscaping equipment and basic preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions, and the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of professional landscaping, lawn care, or resort groundskeeping experience is preferred (though training is available for the right candidate).
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required to operate resort vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor outdoors in all Pacific Northwest weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, bend, kneel, and stand for extended shifts.
  • A strong eye for clean lines, visual symmetry, and proper plant health care.
  • Ability to interact politely and professionally with resort guests and work effectively alongside our facilities and hospitality teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, and blowing of the resort's beach lawns, sports areas, and common lawns.
  • Manage comprehensive garden bed care, including precise weeding, heavy mulching, soil conditioning, and seasonal clean-ups.
  • Plant new flowers, shrubs, native hedges, and trees.
  • Prune, trim, and monitor the health of existing trees and ornamental plants to meet the resort village's ecological guidelines.
  • Maintain the delicate marine-shoreline landscape zones, ensuring proper protection of natural coastal processes while clearing debris and keeping pathways pristine.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot watering schedules for gardens, lawns, and potted installations.
  • Safely utilize commercial landscaping equipment, including zero-turn mowers, line trimmers, hedge clippers, chainsaws, and blowers.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on tools.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
