About The Position

The Tahoe Edgelake Beach Club is seeking a dedicated, team-oriented candidate to join their Facilities Technician team. This full-time, year-round position supports the facilities technician team with comprehensive knowledge of property maintenance, aiming to enhance the work environment. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on various equipment. Responsibilities include identifying and operating shut-off valves, maintaining inventory, and communicating daily activities between shifts. The position requires basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry. Tasks include surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and filter replacement, and thorough clean-up. The technician will test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guest room items. They will also program TVs, manage inventory, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs. Basic computer skills for managing air handler schedules and temperature changes are needed. The role also involves reporting accidents, completing safety training, and adhering to company policies. A key aspect of the job is providing excellent customer service, including welcoming guests, addressing their needs, and maintaining professional communication.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.; or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree

Responsibilities

  • Supports facilities technician team with knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance.
  • Enhances property work environment.
  • Responds and attends to guest repair requests.
  • Communicates with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Visually inspects tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Carries equipment (e.g., tools, radio).
  • Identifies, locates, and operates all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicates each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Performs all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean-up of the painting or repair area.
  • Tests, troubleshoots, and performs basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guest room items.
  • Programs TV's and performs general housekeeping and technician-related inventory duties.
  • Uses the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
  • Displays basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speaks with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

  • Cleans all technician areas as directed by Management.
  • Looks for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to Management.
  • Assures each day’s activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Reads, logs, tracks, and interprets readings from meters, gauges and other measuring devices in accordance with inspection and rounds procedures.
  • Assists in the compilation of data for preventive maintenance inspection records.
  • Follows company and department safety and security policies and procedures to promote a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Completes appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Follows policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Follows Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Uses proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
  • Identifies and corrects unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Maintains proficiency of fire sprinkler and emergency power system and be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the Fire and Emergency Rescue Teams.
  • Utilizes professional language at all times.
