We are looking for dedicated, team-oriented candidates to join our Facilities Technician team at Beach Quarters Resort in Virginia Beach, Virginia! This is a full-time, hourly, year-round position requiring 40 hours a week, 8-hour shifts. The role involves rotating day, night, and overnight shifts, with weekend availability and on-call responsibilities. Robust benefits packages are available. The Facilities Technician supports the team with knowledge of all aspects of facilities maintenance, aiming to enhance the property's work environment. Responsibilities include responding to guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. This involves cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspection of tools, equipment, or machines. The technician will identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utilities, maintain maintenance inventory, and requisition parts and supplies. Daily activities and issues are communicated to other shifts. The role requires basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Tasks include surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough clean-up of work areas. The technician will test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guest room items. Programming TVs, general housekeeping, and inventory duties are also part of the role. The Lockout/Tagout system must be used before performing maintenance. Repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinklers are required. Basic computer skills for inputting schedules and making temperature changes are necessary. In terms of safety and guest relations, the technician must report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training. Company policies, professional appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection are essential. The role requires welcoming and assisting guests according to company standards, anticipating needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Clear and professional communication, accurate document preparation, and professional phone etiquette are expected. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and responding appropriately to concerns are key. Compliance with quality assurance standards and performing other reasonable duties as requested are also required.
