About The Position

Carpenters at Turning Stone Resort Casino support the maintenance, fabrication, and repair of various items throughout the property. This role assists the Senior Supervisor with project coordination, scheduling, and ordering materials and supplies, may mentor Level I and II Facilities Engineer–Carpentry team members, and provides input on performance, coaching, and disciplinary matters to support quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • 2-5 Years of related experience.
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma is required.
  • A valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, must possess excellent communication skills, diplomacy and objectivity.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to strive in a multi task environment.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 51 - 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively performs proper fabrication techniques on damaged furniture and cabinets.
  • Always takes the appropriate steps to properly refinish various types of damaged furniture in a timely manner.
  • Performs the fabrication, repair, installation and refinishing of cabinets, furniture, doors and wall panels.
  • Correctly installs all types of laminates and solid surfaces.
  • Properly utilizes and maintains all types of carpentry equipment.
  • Assists in the installation of laminates and solid counter surfaces as required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to construct sound platforms, partitions, etc.
  • Consistently demonstrates concern for safe operation of power tools.
  • Accurately reports routine duties and work order requests in a daily log.
  • Accurately reads blueprints.
  • Effectively prioritize duties to maximize work day.
  • Assists in other areas within the Facilities Dept. when requested to do so.
  • Monitors bulletin boards and departmental communications and attends mandatory meetings.
