About The Position

The Resort Experience Supervisor will be responsible for communicating and working with Westgate vendors such as Resort Recreation and Tourism Management (RR & TM), Excursions, Scuba, Tennis, Caricature Artists, etc. to facilitate products and services for the Activities department. This role involves coordinating activity and special event programs, assisting with set-up and breakdown for events, and managing subordinate team members in the Activities/Kids Club department. The supervisor will also assist with training, including interviewing, hiring, and training team members, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining team members, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. The position requires organizing and updating department files, planning parties, formulating an environment that increases team members’ morale and motivation, and promoting team spirit. The supervisor will take charge of the department in the absence of the manager, order, inventory, and distribute logo merchandise and sports equipment, and prepare daily and monthly records and procedures for logo merchandise, marketing materials, and other purchases. They will collect daily written reports about the Fitness Center and Game Room, organize vendor reports, collect monthly payments, write up subordinate team member performance evaluations, and enforce disciplinary procedures. The role includes attending manager meetings, participating in team member orientation tours, and having the power and responsibility to cancel various activities when weather or other conditions pose a safety hazard. The supervisor will cooperate with recreation and non-recreation personnel, act as a team leader for the Resort Experience Department regarding resort service standards, and serve as the contact person for entertainment regarding special events. They will stock special event supplies weekly, perform weekly inspections of recreational sites, and handle the replacement of nets and repairing/repainting of equipment. The supervisor is the contact person for contractors regarding repairs and replacement of recreational courts, playground, dock, and fitness center. The ability to design, create, and upkeep decorations is also required. To excel in this role, candidates must embody core values of integrity, passion, and a strong work ethic.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in activity planning for adults and children
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
