About The Position

The Jekyll Island Club Resort is seeking a Retail Shop Attendant to join their team. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable shopping experience for resort guests and island visitors. The retail shop is an extension of the resort's experience, offering unique gifts, resort merchandise, apparel, and souvenirs. The attendant will assist guests with purchases, maintain the shop's presentation, and operate the point-of-sale system.

Requirements

• Previous retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable assisting guests with purchases and recommendations
• Ability to accurately handle cash and point-of-sale transactions
• Organized with strong attention to detail
• Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to maintain an attractive, organized, and guest-ready shop
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and assisting with stocking merchandise
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed
• A positive attitude and genuine desire to provide exceptional hospitality

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide warm, personalized service
• Assist guests with merchandise selections and purchases
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions
• Restock and organize merchandise
• Assist with inventory and merchandise control
• Maintain attractive, inviting retail displays
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Answer questions about merchandise, the resort, and Jekyll Island
• Assist the Retail Supervisor with daily shop operations
• Help create an elevated retail experience that reflects the character of our historic resort
