Provides service to guests by delivering food and drinks. This role involves reviewing banquet event orders, ensuring rooms are set according to specifications (including audio visual, lighting, sound, and temperature), welcoming guests, promptly serving food and beverages, communicating meal adjustments and timing to the banquet captain and kitchen staff, removing and delivering food courses, and refilling/removing glassware. The position also requires adherence to responsible alcohol service policies, including checking identification, monitoring consumption, preventing intoxication, stopping service at the appropriate time, and clearing alcoholic containers. Additionally, the role focuses on promoting guest relations by responding to requests, providing information on promotions, offering assistance and product knowledge, and maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor. Maintaining safe and sanitary banquet areas through cleaning, buffet breakdown, proper storage of equipment and supplies, and trash disposal is crucial. The houseperson is also responsible for ensuring banquet equipment and supplies are stocked and clean by submitting requisitions, organizing deliveries, polishing silverware, folding napkins, and cleaning various surfaces and equipment.
