About The Position

The Banquet Houseman will ensure the operational abilities of the Banquets Department by preparing for, maintaining, and recovering from various activities and functions in the Banquet Department. This role involves resolving guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest and responding promptly to any guest request for service. The ideal candidate will arrive at work in a timely fashion in accordance with the posted schedule, abide by established uniform guidelines, and maintain a “can do” and a “guests first” attitude at all times. The Banquet Houseman will work as a member of the overall hotel team to ensure that each guest has an experience that exceeds their expectations and will attend scheduled training sessions within the hotel as dictated by the Hilton brand and the hotel management.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand and demonstrate well paced mobility for periods of up to four hours.
• Must be able to consistently bend, squat, stoop reach and climb.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Must be able to read and understand English to comply with functions directions.

Responsibilities

• Resolves guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; responds promptly to any guest request for service.
• Performs the setup and break down of all Banquet functions and meeting rooms.
• Reviews function sheets and sets up function room accordingly.
• Ensures all items necessary for the function is provided.
• Breaks down all equipment at the completion of a function and stores equipment as necessary.
• Reports any maintenance needs of equipment to supervisory staff.
