About The Position

The Resort Activities Manager at Westgate Park City Resort & Spa is a key leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing dynamic programs, signature events, and seasonal activities that reflect the resort’s alpine luxury, family-friendly spirit, and world-class service standards. This role involves bringing the Westgate vacation experience to life by leading resort-wide activities and special events. Through hands-on leadership and teamwork, the manager will inspire an energetic team to create meaningful, memorable moments for guests year-round. The position is located at the award-winning Westgate Park City Resort & Spa in the heart of the Canyons Village base at Park City Mountain, surrounded by world-class skiing and year-round mountain adventure.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of relevant experience working in an activities department.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comfortably engage with guests, owners, and Team Members in group settings and live event environments.
  • Brings a high level of creativity and innovation to the design and delivery of recreation programs, themed activities, and special events.
  • Comfortable serving as a visible leader and brand ambassador for resort activities, including hosting, facilitating, or speaking at events as needed.
  • Exhibits a guest focused, relationship driven approach, creating welcoming and engaging experiences for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, adapt, and execute programming based on seasonality, guest preferences, weather conditions, and operational needs.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate teams, encourage participation, and foster a positive, energetic environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including tools used for scheduling, communication, and reporting.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as required by resort operations.
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee creative programs and themed special events that enhance guest experience.
  • Plan and execute events and celebrations for owners, guests, and Team Members, including holiday, VIP, and seasonal programming.
  • Direct and enforce departmental policies and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and brand consistency.
  • Lead, hire, train, coach, and develop the team while maintaining appropriate staffing levels in a fast paced, seasonal resort environment.
  • Develop detailed and comprehensive plans aligned with resort goals and guest satisfaction objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, owners, vendors, and internal departments, using tact and professionalism to resolve concerns and elevate service.
  • Conduct daily stand‑up meetings and lead monthly team meetings; attend additional staff meetings as needed.
  • Prepare incident and accident reports and remain current on all emergency response and safety protocols.
  • Create Team Member schedules and monitor attendance, adjusting staffing as needed based on resort occupancy and seasonal demand.
  • Coordinate with Westgate approved vendors to secure products, entertainment, and services for activities and special events.
  • Maintain records for equipment repairs, manage inventory, and ensure all recreational equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership and marketing teams to promote special events and important resort information.
  • Monitor weather, terrain, and environmental conditions and proactively shut down or modify activities when safety concerns arise.
  • Design, order, and distribute marketing materials for resort programming, VIP events, and Team Member activities.
  • Serve as a host, emcee, or speaker at resort events and functions when called upon.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to support overall resort operations.
