Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and operational experience.
  • Minimum three to seven years of experience in security operations, protective security, military, law enforcement, emergency management, international development, humanitarian security, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a lead instructor for HEAT, FSSA, personal safety and security, travel risk management, or comparable security training programs.
  • Experience facilitating adult learning in classroom, field-based, virtual, and scenario-based environments.
  • Experience facilitating executive, corporate, NGO, government, education, or field-based audiences.
  • Strong classroom management, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to support reports, briefings, assessments, and client deliverables.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Military, law enforcement, diplomatic security, NGO security, humanitarian security, corporate security, or travel risk management background.
  • HEAT Instructor certification or equivalent operational and instructional experience.
  • First Aid, CPR, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), Wilderness First Aid, or comparable certifications.
  • Experience supporting International SOS, OSAC, travel risk management, journey management, or international development programs.
  • Experience facilitating practical field exercises, simulations, or immersive training environments.
  • Business Continuity, Crisis Management, or Emergency Management experience.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, CBCP, MBCI, CEM, ASIS certifications, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead or supporting instructor for HEAT, FSSA, personal safety and security, travel risk management, and related resilience and security training programs.
  • Facilitate immersive exercises, simulations, tabletop exercises, and scenario-based learning activities.
  • Deliver training to executive, corporate, NGO, government, education, and field-based audiences.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and facilitation skills across diverse participant groups.
  • Instruct groups ranging from small workshops to larger training cohorts of 25 or more participants.
  • Evaluate participant performance and provide coaching, feedback, and practical guidance.
  • Support train the trainer initiatives and instructor development programs.
  • Maintain instructional materials, lesson plans, attendance records, participant feedback, and training documentation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Senior Director responsible for curriculum development.
  • Review and provide practical instructor feedback on lesson plans, participant materials, scenarios, exercises, and training aids.
  • Incorporate current threat trends, operational lessons learned, and industry best practices into training recommendations.
  • Support the adaptation of existing training content for different audiences, delivery formats, locations, and client requirements.
  • Assist with the development of new resilience, security, crisis management, and travel risk training offerings as directed.
  • Support journey management and travel risk management programs.
  • Conduct security, operational, and resilience assessments.
  • Produce written reports, assessments, briefings, after-action summaries, and recommendations for clients.
  • Support security advisory engagements and client projects as assigned.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise to proposals, capability statements, and client solution development.
  • Support the development of security, resilience, and crisis management consulting deliverables.

Benefits

  • Expected salary range: $85,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, instructional capability, and operational background.
