The Residential Youth Program Coordinator (RYPC) supports the daily operations of the Fresno Mission’s Youth Services residential program, providing Christ-centered leadership, mentorship, and support to youth participants. This role is dedicated to helping young people navigate life challenges, build healthy relationships, develop life skills, and make meaningful progress toward personal growth and stability. A key responsibility of the RYPC is to develop, equip, and support staff in effectively engaging with youth. This includes training team members in mentorship strategies, goal setting, relationship building, and trauma-informed approaches that foster positive outcomes. The RYPC ensures staff are prepared to help youth establish realistic and attainable goals, provide ongoing encouragement and accountability, and maintain consistent follow-through to support each participant’s progress. The RYPC models best practices in youth engagement, mentorship, and discipleship while creating a culture of accountability, respect, and personal responsibility. This role requires the ability to have difficult yet compassionate conversations with youth and staff when addressing behavioral concerns, unmet expectations, poor decision-making, or barriers to progress. The RYPC provides constructive feedback, challenges individuals to take ownership of their actions, and helps them identify practical steps toward positive change and growth. Through strong leadership, and coaching, the coordinator promotes safe, and a supportive environment where youth are encouraged, held accountable, and equipped to achieve their goals while growing in their faith and character.
