About The Position

The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day functions in the house, ensuring the well-being and safety of the residents. This includes maintaining the house, vehicle, appliances, and equipment. The Residential Worker reports directly to the Program Manager.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Good oral and written English skills.
If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
Ability to answer telephone calls in a professional manner and assists callers.
Must be at least 25 years old.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Must successfully pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

Track unusual and major incidents
Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate
Responsible for being on-call
Performs other related duties as assigned
Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the house, appliances, vehicles, and equipment are safe, operational, and in good working order.
Ensuring the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected.
Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients.
Responsible for cleaning anything that has not been completed by the clients.
Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry, and other activities of daily living.
Planning and coordinating appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community.
Transporting the individuals to and from their destinations, including shopping trips and medical, dental, and mental health appointments.
Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g., for illness, inclement weather, etc.).
Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork, including quarterly reports, monthly reports, fire drill records, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, and daily logbooks.
Carrying out the duties of Medication Technician as trained by Real House, Inc.’s APN.
Providing assistance for individuals in the home to prepare for their day, including personal hygiene tasks, dressing, preparing breakfast, and cleaning up afterwards.
Being "on call" during the 9am-3pm shift, requiring that you leave information with your supervisor as to where you may be reached.
