About The Position

The Residential Worker is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day functions in the house, ensuring the well-being and safety of the residents. This includes maintaining the house, vehicle, appliances, and equipment. The Residential Worker reports directly to the Program Manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Good oral and written English skills.
  • If an individual is in recovery, five-six years of sustained recovery is required.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and web-based application.
  • Ability to answer telephone calls in a professional manner and assists callers.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must successfully pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Track unusual and major incidents
  • Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as appropriate
  • Responsible for being on-call
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Providing support and guidance to the individuals in the house to ensure the house, appliances, vehicles, and equipment are safe, operational, and in good working order.
  • Ensuring the fundamental rights of each adult in the house are protected.
  • Responsible for overseeing all cleaning duties by clients.
  • Responsible for cleaning anything that has not been completed by the clients.
  • Supervising and assisting the individuals in the house with menus, food preparation, housekeeping, personal care, laundry, and other activities of daily living.
  • Planning and coordinating appropriate leisure, social and daily living activities in the residence and in the community.
  • Transporting the individuals to and from their destinations, including shopping trips and medical, dental, and mental health appointments.
  • Assuming responsibility for the individuals in the house during the day when they are unable to attend the day program (e.g., for illness, inclement weather, etc.).
  • Meeting deadlines and completing all necessary paperwork, including quarterly reports, monthly reports, fire drill records, attendance records, weight charts, house receipts, and daily logbooks.
  • Carrying out the duties of Medication Technician as trained by Real House, Inc.’s APN.
  • Providing assistance for individuals in the home to prepare for their day, including personal hygiene tasks, dressing, preparing breakfast, and cleaning up afterwards.
  • Being "on call" during the 9am-3pm shift, requiring that you leave information with your supervisor as to where you may be reached.
