The role of Production Worker (Tender) is crucial as Tenders represent the largest group in the plant and have the most impact on day-to-day operations. They are responsible for maintaining all equipment used in daily operations, checking and maintaining latex levels and properties, loading and unloading trucks, cleaning equipment, performing handling operations for cured tubing, preparing various solutions, disposing of waste materials, and general clean-up.

  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Pushing/Pulling various carts and containers, in tight spots, weighing 50 to 500 lbs., floor buffers in tight areas, sweeping and mopping.
  • Required to lift tubs weighing 20 to 40 lbs. to a height of 6', barrels 50 to 100 lbs. to a height of 3', and various containers and equipment weighing 10 to 80 lbs.
  • Writing notes, tags, maintaining logs, truck sheets, shipping orders, etc.
  • Reading supervisor instructions, operator notes, procedures, etc.
  • Math - Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and use and understand fractions and decimals.
  • Climbing - Must work off a 5' scaffolding, climb ladders up to 5', and step up 3' to clean pumper carts.
  • Manual Dexterity - Must be able to tie and join tubing ends, hold items and cut with scissors, scrub parts 4' high, stack and un-stack tubs and barrels, changing screens, and fill dip machines.
  • Visual Activity - Must visually maintain levels and depths of various fluids, see color of sleeves and/or ties, and determine what colors are running on current production.
  • Must be able to withstand temperatures up to 107 Fahrenheit with high humidity

Responsibilities

  • Maintain latex levels in dip machines and add ammonia and water to machines.
  • Drain, dismantle, clean reassemble and refill dip machines.
  • Filter latex into filling carts.
  • Change and clean machine filter screens and tank screens.
  • Load and unload transport trucks.
  • Strip Custom Dip forms and soften Custom Dip tanks.
  • Handle brominating operations.
  • Follow instructions and directions of the supervisor.
  • Maintain soap, cornstarch and anti-tack solutions.
  • "Cream" machines.
  • Coagulate, weigh, and dispose of scrap latex.
  • Remove trash, sweep and mop floors.
  • Communicate status of jobs to next shift.
  • Handle screen changing for air makeup.
