About The Position

The Residential Therapist will uphold all HR and licensing compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards for the organization. This role functions as a mandated reporter as required by Michigan Child Protection Law. The therapist will coordinate with the Staff Development Team to ensure training and development requirements are met via Paycor and participate in all required meetings. The position involves executing and auditing the provision of appropriate therapeutic treatment and clinical case management in alignment with optimal clinical practices, institutional policies, state licensing regulations, and accreditation standards. This includes conducting and assessing personalized Cognitive Behavioral Theory-oriented therapy for assigned clients, tailored to their unique needs in individual, group, and family settings. The therapist must ensure a thorough understanding of and adherence to all client treatment plans and safety plans, role model client-centered interventions, and maintain all CBT and CPI criteria. All client interactions must be Trauma informed, and the therapist must provide flexibility and adapt schedules for optimal client therapeutic treatment and clinical services. The role requires reviewing medical waivers, incident reports, safety plans, client logs, and other pertinent internal communications pertaining to assigned clients and groups at the start of each shift. Accurate and timely completion and submission of all logs, reports, documentation, and incident reports are essential, finalized by the end of the shift with all information submitted to the appropriate supervisor. This includes coordinating information and communication to appropriate departments via associated systems (i.e., email, Paycor, Salesforce, SharePoint) and maintaining comprehensive client records and court-related documentation, adhering to requirements set forth by funding entities, licensing regulations, and accreditation standards. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited school of Human Behavioral Sciences such as Social Work or Psychology required.
Current Licensure as specified within the State of Michigan’s licensing and contractual rules and expectations required.
Physical health adequate for performance of work.

Demonstrates a profound depth of expertise in deploying clinical social work assessment and intervention methodologies within the context of youth-focused, therapeutic residential programs.
Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the social service sector, including the array of programs and services offered across various agencies.
Demonstrates familiarity with family court systems and the interagency coordination required for effective service delivery.
Maintains a working knowledge of state licensing requirements and their application within the context of specific program operations within the industry.
