Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services discipline required.
  • Master’s Degree in Human Service discipline required or working towards master’s degree.
  • Minimum 2-4 years experience in childcare setting, with references that can depict level of interest in working with children with behavioral issues.
  • LCSW or LPC preferred.
  • Must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate with the child and other staff.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must successfully complete all required background and pre-employment checks EEO/AA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct therapeutic services to children, including case management, individual sessions, group therapy, milieu treatment, arranging family contacts/ home visits, and overseeing the child’s treatment and care in residence/ school.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to families, including family therapy and support services to individual family members, as well as parent training.
  • Complete assessments and other documentation during the child’s evaluation phase of treatment.
  • Develop individualized Master Treatment Plans, prepare Quarterly Treatment Plan Reviews and Discharge Summaries with treatment team.
  • Consult with psychiatrist.
  • Provide evaluation services for children and families as directed by agency policy.
  • Perform court work as necessary to advocate on behalf of a child to help facilitate permanency.
  • May schedule and facilitate behavior change review meetings as they are required.
  • Assist in training the family, preparing both the child and family for placement, and monitoring the child’s transition into placement.
  • Provide transitional services.
  • Maintain communication and work in cooperation with referral agencies.
  • Attend required annual training.
  • Maintain required certifications and proficiencies.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities as assigned.
  • Assist in providing staff training on therapeutic issues and treatment interventions.
  • Keep direct care staff informed of family visits and planned home visits.
  • Provide supervision and management of children as necessary.
  • Provide on-call duties as assigned.
