About The Position

ARCXIS is seeking a full-time Structural Designer to join its growing Houston office. The role involves producing structural designs and details for residential buildings under tight time constraints. The company is looking for an ambitious, reliable, hardworking self-starter who enjoys challenges and wants to develop and grow in an energetic team environment. Experience designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete is preferred; experience with mechanical systems and HVAC is a plus. Candidates must not require employment sponsorship.

Requirements

Excellent AutoCAD skills.
2–6 years of structural design experience in the building design industry.
Experience in wood-framed construction.
Understanding of building envelope requirements.
Strong writing and grammar skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with Architects, Builders, and Owners.
Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Willingness to work long days and weekends as required.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring employment sponsorship or visa transfer.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience designing buildings with steel and concrete.
Familiarity with building codes.
Experience working with mechanical systems and HVAC.
