About The Position

ARCXIS is seeking a full-time Structural Designer to join its growing Houston office. The role involves producing structural designs and details for residential buildings under tight time constraints. The company prefers candidates with prior building design experience using steel, wood, and concrete; experience with mechanical systems and HVAC is also a plus. The position offers the opportunity to work in an energetic team environment with potential for development and growth. Candidates must not require employment sponsorship.

Requirements

• Excellent AutoCAD skills.
• 2–6 years of structural design experience in the building design industry.
• Experience in wood-framed construction.
• Strong writing and grammar skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with architects, builders, and owners.
• Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Willingness to work long days and weekends as required.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship or visa transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience designing buildings with steel and concrete.
• Familiarity with building codes.
• Understanding of building envelope requirements.
• Experience working with mechanical systems and HVAC.
