About The Position
The Residential Specialist provides direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home environment. Using a person-centered approach, the specialist helps clients engage in daily life, make choices, and build independence. The role is based in Spring Valley and is scheduled Thursday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The pay range is $20.00 to $20.65 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Compassion and genuine enjoyment of helping others.
- Adaptability and comfort working with diverse individuals in different situations.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work as a team player.
- Responsibility, reliability, and pride in creating a positive environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.
- Experience using case management systems; Therap is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting.
- Assist with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, eating, cooking, cleaning, dressing and undressing, mobility, and personal organization.
- Encourage independence by supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
