As a Residential Solar Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting one of IGS Energy's fast-growing businesses. You will work alongside experienced team members to help manage critical operational processes that support residential solar customers and projects. This is a hands-on internship for students who enjoy solving problems, working with data, improving processes, and learning how business operations support growth in the renewable energy industry. You will gain exposure to multiple areas of the business while contributing to projects that help the team operate efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong Excel skills, including business case or financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, nested IF statements, and Boolean logic
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical thinking, technology aptitude, and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic document management skills
  • A willingness to learn new systems, tools, technologies, and business processes
  • The ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment
  • A positive attitude, self-motivation, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Gain cross-functional exposure: Work across billing and collections, document management, UCC and SREC applications, solar system monitoring, reporting and analytics, contract management, marketing, quality assurance, data analysis, finance and accounting, legal and regulatory, customer service, and information technology.
  • Support solar operations: Assist with the day-to-day processes that help residential solar projects and customers move forward efficiently.
  • Create training materials: Develop and update user guides, job aids, and documentation that support team training and knowledge sharing.
  • Review work for accuracy: Audit completed work, identify issues, make corrections when needed, and provide timely status updates to management.
  • Collaborate with partners: Work with internal teams and IGS Engineering, Procurement, and Construction partners to support shared goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and business processes.
  • Contribute to team success: Help the team meet accuracy, service level, financial, and operational goals.
