About The Position

This is a Full-Time position based at our vibrant residential site in Williamstown (VIC) Competitive salary + 6 weeks annual leave Access to Salary Packaging benefits and Employee Assistance Program Fixed Term position until end of January 2027. About us Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania. The opportunity We’re looking for an experienced and motivated leader to join Wintringham as Residential Site Manager on a full-time basis until end of January 2027 This is an opportunity to lead a residential aged care home where choice, dignity, and independence are at the heart of our approach. You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, lead and support a dedicated team, and play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and non-institutional environment for residents, including those with complex support needs. A balance of people-focused leadership and strong operational oversight is required to ensure high-quality service delivery, compliance and effective use of resources, and will be supported by a comprehensive induction into Wintringham’s unique philosophy of care to enable confident leadership of the established Williamstown model.

Requirements

  • Previous management experience in Homelessness and or Aged Care sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current approaches in working with clients who exhibit complex behaviours.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth and State Government policies, standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with and empower employees within their roles.
  • Ability to be on-call out of hours
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Graduate Degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Social Work or other relevant field
  • A non-judgmental approach with the ability to work with people from varying socio-economic backgrounds.
  • An understanding of the special needs of older people.
  • Current CPR & First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all service delivery is consistent with the policies and procedures of Wintringham and meets the Standards for Aged Care Services and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordination of staff recruitment in conjunction with our People & Culture Team
  • Coordination of the home’s care support documentation in conjunction with our Quality team
  • Promoting a non-institutional philosophy within the Home by: Recognising and promoting the rights of residents. Encouraging residents to maintain and exercise control over decisions which affect their lives. Providing residents with an environment that offers a variety of options to assist each resident to determine their own lifestyle and; Being a key support for residents’ complex behavioural needs
  • Ensuring that Wintringham’s duty of care to both residents and staff is met at all times.
  • Participating in management meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Maximising the use of all resources available to the site ensuring that budgetary and Key Performance Targets are met.
  • Providing leadership to staff and to ensure staff have the necessary skills and expertise to provide a quality service to residents.
  • Providing effective financial management of the home.
