About The Position

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Residential Services Worker who is ready to support individuals through hands-on programs and thoughtful guidance at Selinsgrove Center. In this position, you will play an important role in coaching staff, tracking progress, and fostering a supportive environment. This position focuses on supporting individuals in residential settings by developing, delivering, and monitoring training programs that align with each person’s goals. It also involves guiding Residential Services Aides and promoting a positive, consistent environment.

Requirements

• Five years of paid experience performing direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with a developmental disability; or A bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, education, or nursing; or One year of paid experience performing direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with a developmental disability; and a bachelors degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering residential training and support activities based on Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
• Provide direction to residential services aides and help develop their skills in supporting individuals
• Check documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards and report findings to supervisors
• Share input in meetings and help identify strategies that improve active treatment
• Assist with identifying causes of incidents and support efforts to improve safety
• Request needed supplies and equipment to support program goals and daily activities
