About The Position

Residential Service Technicians (Mental Health Direct Care Professionals) are needed to join one of five adult residential programs. These programs provide trauma-informed treatment and support services to adults living with mental illness complicated by co-occurring chronic health conditions as well as a potential substance use disorder. The Residential Service Technicians provide direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting. As a direct care worker and mental health support specialist, you will provide personal support and supportive counseling to our residents. You will be part of a clinical team utilizing the tasks of daily living as instrumental treatment components while also helping to create a sense of permanency with a home like environment. In addition, you will contribute to identifying needs or emerging needs, physical and mental health wellbeing, medication administration, personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management. You will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized facility and in maintaining staff office, charts and documentation. These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings, and participate in other meetings as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Flexible schedule is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must pass CNA registry check.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • A good driving record is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.

Responsibilities
