About The Position

The Residential Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, guiding homeowners through the sales process, and partnering with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial consultation through project completion. This is a hybrid, field-based sales role that combines in-home consultations, relationship-building, and project coordination. Fence & Deck Connection has over 35 years of experience designing and installing high-quality fences, decks, and screened porches for homeowners throughout Maryland, Delaware, Richmond, VA, and Savannah, GA. In addition to residential installation, we are proud to be one of the most trusted providers of commercial railing, fence, and deck installation services in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Residential Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new customer relationships and managing the full sales cycle from initial consultation through project handoff. This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to effectively coordinate with operations teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction. Success in this role is driven by your ability to generate new business, build strong customer relationships, and deliver a professional and seamless experience. In this role, success looks like: Consistently generating and closing new business within your assigned territory, Building strong, lasting relationships with homeowners and referral sources, Maintaining an organized and active sales pipeline in Salesforce, Delivering accurate proposals and setting clear expectations with customers, Partnering effectively with Project Managers to ensure smooth project execution, Driving customer satisfaction that leads to referrals and repeat business.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience preferred (home improvement experience a plus)
  • Friendly, outgoing, and motivated “go-getter” attitude
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Ability to set and manage your own schedule and pipeline

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with prospective customers in the assigned Delaware market
  • Meet with prospective customers to assess and measure project scope
  • Develop clear and effective proposals and quotations
  • Coordinate sales efforts with sales management, marketing, and production teams
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage pipeline and quote projects efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers to ensure proper installation and customer satisfaction
  • Self-generate leads within builder communities and local markets
  • Flag or mark fence areas to support accurate project installation
