About The Position
Aspire Health and Community Services is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Residential Rehab Educators/Counselors on a relief/per diem basis. In this role, you will assist residential clients experiencing chronic behavioral health issues with their daily living activities, helping them develop independence and improve their quality of life. As relief staff, you will fill in for regular staff absences, vacations, and unfilled positions across various residential group home settings. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure and experience in the mental health field while contributing to our mission of fostering an environment that is safe, supportive, and free of judgment around mental health.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Current valid driver's license in good standing.
- 1-3 years of driving experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Empathy.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to attend all mandatory trainings.
- Must pick up at least 1 shift every 30 days to remain on the Relief Staff list.
Nice To Haves
- Some college preferred.
- Interest and/or coursework in Psychology, human services, health care, or related field.
- Some experience in the mental health care field is preferred.
- Current CPR and MAP certifications are highly desirable.
- CPR/FA certification required within 3 months of employment.
- MAP certification required within 6 months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residential clients experiencing chronic behavioral health issues with activities of daily living.
- Help clients develop more independence and improve their quality of life.
- Monitor client activities.
- Assist with grocery shopping, household chores, and cooking.
- Provide support with personal care and managing finances.
- Transport clients to appointments or events in the community.
- Deescalate behavioral issues.
- Administer medication (may do so).
- Engage clients in meaningful activities within the home.
- Encourage positive behaviors.
- Help clients meet individual service plan goals.
