About The Position

The Residential Project Coordinator is the scheduling and coordination hub for Steg Plumbing’s residential construction team. This role owns the accurate setup, scheduling, tracking, and documentation of residential plumbing projects from initial job start through final billing and close-out. Success in this position requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong sense of personal accountability, consistent follow-through on deadlines, and clear, proactive communication with managers, field crews, builders, and the finance team. Requirements

  • 2+ years of office or administrative experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 1–3 years of construction, scheduling, or project coordination experience preferred, but not required.
  • Background in project accounting, job costing, or finance coordination a plus; candidates with project accountant experience are strongly encouraged to apply

  • Associate’s Degree in General Business or related field preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor builder portals and miscellaneous programs daily for new job starts; initiate setup promptly and accurately
  • Create physical and electronic job folders; download and print all required project documents for each job
  • Provide field support when requested, including prints, addresses, builder contacts, and other project information
  • Enter and maintain job schedules based on builder requirements and available manpower
  • Complete plumbing permit applications as required per municipality
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Assist with budget tracking, expense management, and cost control measures.
  • Investigate and explain job budget variances by phase (slab, rough, finish)
  • Manage incoming change orders and complete job cost worksheets for the Finance team; work with builders to obtain FPO numbers in a timely manner
  • Receive forms from field personnel; coordinate material returns, schedule return trips, and file in the appropriate electronic job folder
  • Maintain Release Spreadsheet with PO numbers for Purchasing; communicate release dates to suppliers; email delivery driver schedules
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure weekly billings are completed
  • Work with the Finance team on remittance reconciliation
  • Prepare and deposit physical checks to the bank; communicate deposit details to the Finance team promptly
  • Prepare monthly backlog report
  • Work with the Finance team on the Closed Job Report monthly
  • Proactively communicate delays, discrepancies, or issues to the Operations Manager and relevant team members before they escalate
  • Improve existing processes with the use of AI tools
  • Serve as backup for peers as needed
  • Maintain all assigned trackers and reports in a current, complete, and accurate state
