Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with people with IDD/A.
  • An associate degree or sixty credit hours from an accredited college or university and 3 years’ work experience working directly with people with IDD/A.
  • Working towards a degree and at least 4 years of experience working with IDD/A population.
  • Demonstrated effective communicator (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations.
  • Persuasive.
  • NADSP certification.
  • MANDT training.

  • Must clear ACT 33, 3 and 73 (criminal).
  • Understanding/knowledge of the Office of Developmental Programs (3800, 6400/6100) regulations.
  • Understanding/knowledge of incident management and investigative reporting.
  • Understanding/knowledge in all systems: HCSIS, Therap and Incident Management.
  • Understanding/knowledge of the state licensing regulations and assisting during the annual licensing.
  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of a Certified Investigator or become certified.
  • Understanding/knowledge of HCSIS and Incident Management reporting.
  • Understanding/knowledge of the Therap system.
  • Understanding/knowledge of Medication Administration and become a Medication Trainer.

Responsibilities

  • Management oversight and leadership to Residential Supervisors and CPS or AIMED to Independence.
  • Build a team atmosphere and role model AIMED's Core Values.
  • Maintain organized files, implement policies and procedures, attend leadership meetings and interagency meetings.
  • Prepare for state licensing.
  • Carry out AIMED's services as required and meet the 6400 and 3800 regulation expectations.
  • Manage and oversee new site development in conjunction with the Chief Program Officer and Operations Manager.
  • Assist or act as a backup to the SR RPD with the New Hire Orientation (NHO) class.
  • Handle new admission of the Community Participation services (CPS), including completing all necessary paperwork.
  • Obtain ISP critical revision by the Service Coordinator (SC) for CPS services.
  • Work with the CPS manager on scheduling staff for CPS services.
  • Provide supervision, leadership, guidance and assistance to the Residential Supervisors and Direct Support Staff.
  • Ensure CPS staff time is approved and submitted correctly.
  • Approve weekly timecards, resolve timecard discrepancies, and approve PTO time.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with the Residential Supervisor to provide oversight to the DSP and casual pool of staff, while maintaining an overtime balance according to the agency’s budget and policy.
  • Participate in weekly clinical meetings.
  • Manage quarterly reviews.
  • Perform monthly purges.
  • Review accountability forms for billing submission.
  • Participate in the development of the ISP, annual updates, and ISP revision. Attend ISP meetings when necessary.
  • Report all maintenance issues and ensure the agency’s fleet is on a 6-month maintenance schedule.
  • Manage and distribute grocery cards and petty cash.
  • Deliver medication to the Residential Supervisor.
  • Record keeping of monthly fire drills.
  • Conduct site spot checks on various shifts to ensure homes are meeting state requirements.
  • Assist with newly hired supervisors, and Residential Advisor/Direct Care.
  • Be on call and have a flexible schedule (filling in a shift), when necessary.
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
  • Promote positive and harmonious interaction with the Residential Supervisor and Direct Care staff, in accordance with AIMED’s core values.
  • Continue to learn AIMED’s processes and procedures and apply policies and procedures with positive and reinforcement feedback.
  • Ensure staff are adhering to all mandated training, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate NADSP certification training for Residential Supervisors, DSP, CPS and Support Living staff, as necessary.
  • Ensure Residential Supervisor and DSP new hire shadow training is completed timely and the shadow form is sent to the training department.
  • Ensure staff/new hires are trained on ISP, BSP and applicable plans.
  • Ensure staff report all incidents according to the regulations (Therap system).
  • Schedule participants' doctor's appointments, work with the nurse (LPN or RN), follow up on appointments and track information in Therap daily. Work with the Program Specialist to ensure all appointments are documented. Act as backup to support transporting participants to doctor’s appointments.
  • Review the MAR on a weekly basis for accuracy according to state regulations.
  • Ensure all sites are complying according to state regulations (3800, 6100 & 6400).
  • Ensure staff are fully trained and understand state regulations.
  • Make recommendations and assist with necessary changes in the development and delivery of new and/or existing policies, procedures, services, and programs to optimize quality assurance and reduce deficits and maintain integrity of programs, licensure, and contracts.
