About The Position

The Bridge Family Center is seeking a full-time Program Director for its West Hartford STTAR Home (Freymann House), a short-term assessment & respite program for adolescent females in DCF care. The Program Director, with strong input and oversight from the Director of Residential Services, is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, and operation of the Specialized Trauma-Informed Treatment Assessment and Reunification model (STTAR). This role involves managing the daily operations of the program, interfacing with all appropriate community agencies and families, and ensuring the overall quality assurance of the program. Compensation will depend on education level and years of experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Residential/Group Home management, particularly working with adolescents in DCF care.
  • Prior experience working with at-risk children/adolescents.
  • Experience in administrative management and staff supervision, preferably in a 24/7 residential setting.
  • Valid CT driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to transport clients.
  • Certification in (or ability to become certified after hire) CPR/First Aid.
  • Certification in (or ability to become certified after hire) Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
  • Certification in (or ability to become certified after hire) Medication Administration plus additional trainings.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the 24 hour staff schedule in accordance with DCF and Bridge requirements.
  • Maintains system of 24 hour on-call supervision.
  • Responsible for regular review of payroll, paying of program bills, and the petty cash supply.
  • Coordinates and ensures compliance with operational program components including medication administration, behavior management, documentation, recreation, menus, grocery shopping, vehicle maintenance, fire drills, and physical plant repairs and upkeep.
  • Coordinates service contracts for the program and interface with contractors such as electricians, plumbers, Cintas (sprinkler system), Associated Security (fire alarm).
  • Maintains positive working relationship with various agencies including but not limited to DCF, schools, after-school programs, and legal representatives, and cultural agencies, religious and spiritual agencies.
  • Shares 24/7 on-call duties with the clinical coordinator, 26 weeks on-call per year.
  • Comply with all record keeping and documentation requirements. Furnish information and documentation as is required to DCF.
  • Participates in the hiring, training and annual evaluation of an effective, cohesive staff team.
  • Assists the Residential Leadership with DCF licensing requirements and preparation for biennial licensing visits.
